Lamenting Lost Fruit

Lamenting Lost Fruit

I feel like we've grown apart, like I've slipped on your peel or something.  There is, at least for me, a split.  What happened, my bright, sunny friend?

It's quite possible my sensitivity meter is just reading a bit high today.  But maybe I really did something wrong.  Maybe my whining was just too sour for such a lovely fruit as you...maybe my humor is offensive.  Maybe my bi-polar nature doesn't make sense to such a straight shooter.

Either way, my lovely fruit, I miss you.  :-).

Changing

Changing

New and improved (yes, I realize it's an oxymoron): mn.risley is now "awaitingbloom."  (You can still call me Ris/Risley/The Ris/MN).

I've changed the overall title of my page and the section titles, too! :-)

Reasons for these changes?  Well, I'm changing...and I received a very special "word" from someone last night while praying.  She saw a lotus flower waiting to open.

Short Story Part 2

Short Story Part 2

THe fun continues! To catch up, read the previous post.  Suzanne's the 18th, Annie the 19th, me the 20th...

The streetlights started to flicker and I heard a loud humming in my ears. Ryan caught me as I started to fall fainting from exhaustion onto the pavement. "Where Ryan?" I asked my son. "Where are we supposed to go? Where are we going to be....safe, and why aren't we safe here? Stop, don't answer that, I suppose there are some things that are better not spoken." I turned and looked at my son from the cold hard ground. "Get your stuff together. We can go to Grandma Josephine's up in the mountains tonight and figure out where and what and how from there" I stood up and pulled my keys from my pocket.

We left Dave's body in the middle of the road like a rabid dog. Ryan and I climbed into the front seat of my car as I fumbled in my bathrobe pocket for my keys. "Where are we going?" Ryan asked with a smile. "Son, I don't think you know the severity of our problem..." but before I could finish my sentence, flashing lights and a siren cut our trip a little short...

I panicked and hit the gas.  Now we were running from the cops.  But, just as I was about to squeal around the next corner, I saw the lights turn and face our house.  Ryan was yelling at me to stop the car - apparently HE had called the cops - so he could get out and explain.

"Mom, I called the police on Dave.  He was going to come after you because...well, they're really mad at me."  Before I could ask who, an explosion followed by a splatter caused me to involuntarily hit the dirt...
